In the Beginning is a passage describing the creation of the world.

In the beginning, God created heaven and earth. On the first day, he created light and divided Day and Night. On the second day, God created the firmament, Heaven. On the third day, God created Earth and Sea and created vegetation. On the fourth day, God created seasons, days, and years, and lights to distinguish day and night. He also created stars in the firmament. On the fifth day, God created sea creatures and birds. On the sixth day, God created animals. Finally, on the seventh day, made man in his own image, giving them dominion over life on earth and entrusting them to reproduce and be fruitful.
The Garden of Eden[]
God created man from dust, and "breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul". God then planted a garden in Eden, where every tree that grew bore abundant fruit and pleasant taste. There was the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge. God let man enter the garden and take everything in the garden for himself, except for the Tree of Knowledge. God warned that if the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge was eaten, then he will die.
Adam named every living creature of the earth brought forth by God. God then took one of Adam's ribs and created Woman. They were both naked, but were unashamed of it. Later, a snake confronts the woman and convinces her to eat the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge. She eats the fruit and Adam joins in too. Suddenly, they realize their nudity and cover themselves.
God punishes them harshly. He makes childbirth painful for woman and makes husbands dominate wives. As for man, God banned them both from the garden and forced them to sustain themselves in the field. Finally, God set warrior angels, Cherubims, to guard the garden.
